WHAT TO WEAR // Headshots & Portraits
WOMEN //
Tops >> Detailed blouses are great, with lace, beading, sequences, etc.
Color >> Blues compliment almost everyone's skin tones, dark greens compliment fare skin tones and red hair, black is always classy with a pop of detail (ie. earrings, necklace), and yellow looks great with dark skin tones. Be careful of solid browns which can wash out farer skin tones, and also whites can actually be too bright sometimes and can draw attention away from your expression.
Shoes >> Definitely bring flats, and heals if you'd like!
WOMEN //
Accessories >> Jewelry is always good! A little sparkle can really make a photo pop. Also, scarves and jackets can add dimension and can compliment the colors of your makeup or the background.
Overall Advice...
Don't wear anything with significant wrinkles, they really stick out in photos! Also, feel free to bring a couple of outfits, like two tops or a dress and a casual outfit.
MEN // Formal & Casual
Jackets >> I always recommend bringing a suit jacket or blazer because of the nice clean lines and sculpt it adds around the shoulders.
Shirts >> Button ups and oxfords are good, in either a solid color or subtle checkered pattern. No wrinkles please!
Accessories >> Watches are good, cuff links are good for a more formal look. Ties are optional.
Pants >> Dark jeans, or slacks, no khakis.
Shoes >> Dress shoes or loafers.
